Zyranna Zateli ( Greek Ζυράννα Ζατέλη , * 1951 in Sochos , also Siranna Sateli , Ziranna Zanteli , Zyranna Zatelē ) is a Greek writer .

Life

Zateli was born near Thessaloniki in 1951. Her father owned a cinema, among other things, in which she spent many evenings in her childhood and watched films. After graduating from school, she lived in other European countries for a few years. In 1973 she settled in Athens . There she first studied at the school for drama and worked as a radio producer. In 1984 she published her first volume of short stories ( Περσινή αρραβωνιαστικιά ) and has since devoted herself entirely to writing.

Her works have been translated into Albanian, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Lithuanian and Serbian. Her novel And by the Light of the Wolf they return ( Και με το φως του λύκου επανέρχονται ) was particularly well received . Individual short stories have also been translated into other languages ​​and have appeared in anthologies and magazines.

Awards

Zateli received 1994 for her novel And by the light of the wolf they return again ( ιαι με το φως του λύκου επανέρχονται. ) And again in 2002 for her novel Με το παράξενο όνλεμα αθμάνθς ρατς αθμάν νοεθς αθής νοεθτς. the State Prize for Literature of Greece .
