Zytek Automotive

Zytek Automotive is a British company that develops control systems for the automotive industry, drive technology , engine construction and hybrid technology. The company is based in Fradley . Zytek Automotive has been a 100% subsidiary of Continental AG since 2014 .

history

In addition to racing, Zytek engine electronics are also used in road vehicles from Jaguar , Aston Martin , Rolls-Royce and Bentley . Zytek introduced 32-bit technology in vehicle construction and integrated controls such as traction control .

Zytek presented an electrically powered Elise in collaboration with Lotus . For the IAA 2001, Zytek designed a diesel hybrid vehicle for DaimlerChrysler . In 2001 Zytek became General Motors' partner in hybrid development.

A Smart Forfour was also converted to a plug-in hybrid in 2006 in cooperation with the Lithium Technology Corporation (LTC) .

In 2014, Zytek Automotive was taken over by Continental AG . Zytek Automotive was previously 50% owned by the Zytek Group . The racing division of the Zytek Group was not taken over by Continental and renamed Gibson Technology .
