Eva Maria Mazzucco (born November 21, 1925 in Strobl ; † January 11 or January 12, 2013 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian sculptor and graphic artist .

Life

Eva Mazzucco grew up in Salzburg, where she attended drawing school and worked in Hauser's ceramic workshop. In 1949 she began her studies at the Academy for Applied Arts in Vienna. She studied with Fritz Cremer , Hans Knesl and Günther Baszel and graduated in 1955 with a diploma in sculpture. In subsequent years, she created some well-known large sculptures and reliefs in the public space in Vienna, particularly the Self Sun ends ( Arbeiterstrandbadstrasse , Vienna 22) and the bronze mother and child (Wagramerstraße 55-61, Vienna 22) and Child playing (Wimpfengasse 37- 39). The children's group - Playing The Golden Bridge - was also set up in front of the Siemensstrasse / Berzeliusgasse primary school in Vienna 21 . One example of her numerous animal motifs is the majolica relief goats in Vienna 23, Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Strasse 23-25. In total, more than 60 of her large-scale sculptures were exhibited in public spaces.

Eva Mazzucco was a member of the Künstlerhaus Wien (1961) and the Salzburg Art Association .
