Artur "Art" Papazyan (* 1992 ) is a professional American - Armenian poker player . He is a two-time title holder of the World Poker Tour , where he was named Player of the Year in 2017/18 .

Poker career

Papazyan lives in Glendale, California . He has participated in renowned live tournaments since 2014 .

In late August 2017, Papazyan won the World Poker Tour (WPT) Main Event in Los Angeles . For this he prevailed against 762 other players, especially in the heads-up against Phil Hellmuth , and received a prize of almost 670,000 US dollars . About a month later, in early October 2017 in Hanover , Maryland , Papazyan again won the WPT Main Event, securing his second WPT title . For this he defeated a field of 560 other participants and received prize money of almost 400,000 US dollars. For this achievement he was named Breakout Player 2017 at the American Poker Awards in Los Angeles in late February 2018 and WPT Player of the Year at the end of the season . In early June 2019, Papazyan reached the final table of the WPT Main Event at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and finished in third place, worth around $ 210,000.
