Builale ( Builalae ) is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Ossu ( Viqueque municipality ).

The Suco is located in the north of the Ossu administrative office. In the south it borders on the Suco Ossu de Cima , in the east on the Suco Uabubo and in the west on the Suco Liaruca . In the north and east lies the municipality of Baucau with its sucos Fatulia , Uailaha and Uai Oli (all administrative office Venilale ). In the Suco lies the Laritame , a mountain with steep walls ( Fatu ) typical for Timor and a height of 1394  m . The region belongs to the Important Bird Area of the neighboring Monte Mundo Perdido . Along the northern border flows Assalaenita , who later Buihiu is. It is a headwaters of the Seiçal .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Builale had an area of ​​31.29 km². Now the area is 31.92 km². There were only minor border corrections to Uabubo, Liaruca and Ossu de Cima.

In the east, the country road from Baucau to Viqueque crosses the Suco. The most important settlements of Builale lie along it. From north to south, these are the places Cai Tara Hu ( Caitarahu ), Liaro , Bete Cai Ana ( Betecaiana ), Cai Leti Ana ( Caileti Ana , Cailetiana ) and Heni Uta ( Henihuta ). In Liaro there is a medical station and a primary school, the Escola Primaria Liaro .

In the Suco there are the five Aldeias Bete Cai Ana , Cai Leti Ana , Cai Tara Hu , Heni Uta and Liaro .

Residents

1137 inhabitants (2015) live in the Suco, of which 574 are men and 563 women. The population density is 35.6 inhabitants / km². There are 222 households in the Suco. Almost 42% of the population name Makasae as their mother tongue. Almost 33% speak Kairui . Builale and the neighboring Liaruca are centers of the dialect. Almost 24% speak Midiki and a small minority speak Tetum Prasa .

In the elections of 2004/2005 was António Gomes Monis elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.

history

At the end of 1979 there was an Indonesian transit camp in Builale for East Timorese who were to be relocated by the occupiers for better control.
