The airfield Schwabach is the airfield of the Central Franconian town of Schwabach . It is operated by the Schwabach Aviation Association.
location
The airfield is located on the northern edge of the Gauchsdorf district of the municipality of Büchenbach south of the Heidenberg at an altitude of 361 m above sea level. NN in the valley of the Aurach . Thus, it is about 8 km south of Schwabach and the A 6 and 7 km west of Roth .
Airlines and Destinations
The airfield is a special landing place for gliders and powered aircraft up to 2000 kg, and helicopters up to 5700 kg and has no regular operating hours. The airport operator is the Fliegervereinigung Schwabach eV Landing is only possible with the operator's permission ( PPR ). The place has the ICAO code EDPH. Until its dissolution in 1994, the Army Airfield Neuhausen ob Eck , (today EDSN), in Baden-Wuerttemberg carried the EDPH identifier .
history
- In 1928 the Schwabach Aviation Association was founded. The first flights took place on the Hesselberg , southwest of Nuremberg .
- In 1952 the new airfield north of Schwabach was inaugurated. The area was rededicated as a military training area from 1962, so that another move was necessary.
- In 1962 the Schwabach-Büchenbach airfield was founded by the Schwabach Aviation Association as a motor / glider airfield.
- In 1995 there was a plane crash there.
traffic
The public transport operated Gauch village with two lines. Line 607 is more like a school bus and allows a single trip to Schwabach early in the morning and one to Großweingarten at noon . Line 635, a scheduled taxi service , has to be requested by telephone and offers a few trips to and from Roth on weekdays and during the day . There is no public transport connection on weekends and public holidays .
The Schwabach - Büchenbach (Gauchsdorf) airfield can be reached by car via the district road RH 5 running to the north and from the east via the state road 2224 and communal roads .
