International horticultural exhibition on postage stamps of the GDR Deutsche Post

The International Horticultural Exhibition (iga) in Erfurt was honored with several stamp series from the GDR Deutsche Post . There were a total of 25 different motifs, three of which were also issued in a stamp booklet.

In addition to these issues directly related to the Erfurt exhibitions, there were other stamp series in the GDR with floral motifs, such as protected native plants or cacti .

The iga was since 1961 the largest and most important event of its kind in the GDR and the socialist camp .
