Marcus Kink (born January 13, 1985 in Düsseldorf ) is a German ice hockey player who last played for Adler Mannheim in the German Ice Hockey League . Kink is the son of the former professional ice hockey player Georg Kink , his older brother George also played ice hockey.

Kink played in the DNL until 2002 , but also in the 2nd Bundesliga at SC Riessersee and finally switched to the Kölner Haien at the beginning of the 2002/03 season , who also used him in the 2nd Bundesliga at EV Duisburg . In 2004 the left winger signed a contract with Adler Mannheim , for which he made his debut in the DEL on October 5, 2004.

In the 2006/07 season he won both the German Ice Hockey Cup and the German Championship with the Eagles . In November 2009, Kink prematurely extended his current contract for another three years. On November 25, 2013 he played his 600th DEL game against the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers . In the 2014/15 season he reached first place in the table with the Eagles after the regular season and won the German championship in the subsequent play-offs.

In season 2018/19 he won as captain of Adler Mannheim again the title of German champions, but Eagle coach had Pavel Gross omitted from the semi-final series on Kink, he that even in the final against the EHC München not to Was used. In July 2019, the Adler terminated his contract, which ran until 2021. After 15 years, 98 goals and 174 assists in 812 DEL games and nine years as captain of the team, Kink left the Adler.

International

From 2002 Kink was active in the youth field of the German Ice Hockey Association . The striker played the U18 Junior World Championship in 2002 and, after relegation, the U18 Junior World Championship in Division I in 2003 . In the following age group, Kink completed the U20 Junior World Championship in 2003 , after relegation the following year, the U20 Junior World Championship in Division I in 2004 and, as a result of the immediate promotion, the U20 Junior World Championship in 2005 .

For men’s selection , Kink was used at the 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 World Championships . He reached the quarter-finals in 2011, 2016 and 2017. In addition, the attacker completed the qualification for the 2014 Winter Olympics and the qualification for the 2018 Winter Olympics . Due to the successful qualification for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , Kink also came to work there and won the silver medal with the team and was awarded the silver laurel leaf on June 7, 2018, like the entire German ice hockey Olympic team.
