Susan Davis

Susan A. Davis (born April 15, 1944 in Cambridge , Massachusetts ) is an American politician . She is a member of the Democratic Party and has been a member of the US House of Representatives since 2001 .

Susan Davis studied at the University of California at Berkeley , where she graduated in 1965 with a bachelor's degree ; three years later she graduated with a Masters from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . After serving for many years on the San Diego School Commission , of which she was President from 1989 to 1992, she was elected to the California House of Representatives in 1994. In 2000, she finally ran for a seat in Congress . With 50 percent of the vote she prevailed against the Republican incumbent Brian Bilbray . She has been re-elected nine times since then. Until 2003 she represented the 49th Congressional constituency of her state and thereafter the 53rd. Since she was re-elected in 2018, she is also a member of the 116th Congress of the United States , which met on January 3, 2017 . Your new legislative period runs until January 3, 2021 with the option of a further candidacy in 2020.

Susan Davis and her husband Steve have two children and two grandchildren.
