The Best of Scorpions Vol. 2 is a compilation album by the German hard rock band Scorpions , which was released in 1984.

History of origin

RCA Records owned the rights to the Scorpions albums from 1974 to 1978. In the 1970s / 1980s several similar compilations such as Hot & Heavy and The Best of Scorpions appeared , some in different versions. The Best of Scorpions Vol. 2 is a sequel to The Best of Scorpions from 1979. With Speedy's Coming , All Night Long and We'll Burn the Sky songs from the Tokyo Tapes album have been added. The albums Fly to the Rainbow ( They Need a Million , This Is My Song ), In Trance ( Top of the Bill , Longing for Fire , Sun in My Hand ), Virgin Killer ( Catch Your Train , Crying Days ) were also considered.

The cover shows a drawing of a scorpion on a woman's hand, whose fingernails are painted red, against a black background. A CD was released in 1990.

The album peaked at number 175 on the Billboard 200 when it was released .

Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic.com wrote that there isn't much on the album that "the average metalhead" is familiar with because of the length of time chosen, but that it does include some highlights from the records in question. It awarded four and a half stars out of five.
