Van den Boogaard made her debut for the women's team on October 3, 1994 in a friendly match in and against Germany. She was famous for her penalty corners. She played her last match for the Dutch national team in the summer of 2002 against [[Australia]]. Afterwards Dutch coach [[Marc Lammers]] claimed she became to slow for the modern game, and he removed her from the team. Van den Boogaard played club hockey for Geel Zwart, [[HC Den Bosch]] and [[Amsterdam]].
