The name Arnold (as a place of residence) is seldom used today by the younger generations. Since circa 1970, those who reside in this area identify themselves as Rice Lake (Rice Lake Township) or Duluth residents.

There are no road signs posted today anywhere that Arnold even exists, with the exception of the arterial route named Arnold Road in Rice Lake and Gnesen townships. The historic Arnold School (now closed for decades) was a landmark in the area.

Public school students in Rice Lake and Gnesen townships attend Duluth Central High School, which educates students in grades nine through twelve.
