David Belle (born 29 April 1973 in Fécamp, France) is the founder of parkour and is a stuntman and physical educator.

Life

Belle was born and grew up in Marine Seine, Normandy. He came from a simple family from the suburbs of Paris and whose grandfather, father, and now older brother were all firemen.

The first 14 years of life were spent in Fécamp and later in Les Sables d'Olonne. His maternal grandfather Gilbert Kitten raised David and evoked in him a passion for heroism and helping other people. He wished to follow in his father's and grandfather's footsteps by becoming a Parisian fireman, but due to a wrist injury, he decided to allow the injury to heal and to give up this ambition. After his wrist healed, he joined the Marine Infantry in Vannes where he excelled. However, he did not care for the regimented life of the military. His taste for adventure and love of freedom led him away from continued military service. But military and fireman training, as well as his early training as a gymnast, were to come in handy for the sport he was to develop. He put these skills into practice with his friends, who came to be called the Yamakasi(Yahn, Frédéric Hnautra, David Malgogne, Sébastien Foucan and Kazuma). He also won the Essonne obstacle course in record time.

The game originated to the name of the practice, art of movement:

  • Parkour - Derived from French, "parcours", means "the course."
    • Parkour - The universal name of the art of the movement.
  • Free running - Means run free or to run smoothly. Although inspired by Parkour, the philosophy and objectives of Free running differ from that of Parkour.

Raymond Belle, while stationed in Vietnam in the infantry, utilized his knowledge of movement in the forests. Raymond was without a doubt one of the first apprentices of the art of movement. His father's life inspired David with the objective of leaving his legacy and of this to continue his work.

In Parkour, there are no federations or regulations, clubs, or competitions for prizes. The objective is not to create rules or a way of winning money in the art, much less an exhibition desire as a sport for adolescents. Parkour exists because of its practices, as sport, and as means to self-improvement, physically and mentally as search of improvement of movement.

David Belle continues to practice his convictions in the usefulness of this sport or art and maintains that the ability exists inside of all of us.

Sports

Early he demonstrated taste for the action and fast movements. When he turned 15, David left school to focus more on sport modalities such as:

He developed physical fitness as: to run, to jump, to climb, to catch, to go down, to climb, to control the balance and to have enough force to dominate the body with a considerable agility. He always sought in the sport where it would be used day by day.

Legacy of his father

His father, Raymond Belle, was born in what was then Indochina October 3, 1939. Capacities that come in practice

  • Development of physical force

A very important variable is physical development. One's being physically strong only helps in practice of the modality. Arm and leg strength are the keys for success in Parkour: arms to climb and legs for aterragens [clarification needed] of falls above three meters.

  • Development in the motive coordination

The training routine takes to the earnings of more experience for new obstacles and help in the motive coordination. With time, Parkour helps one learn the movements of the body & teaches balance control. Knowing of the limits of the body creates an adaptation for new atmospheres and challenges.

  • Control of the fear of failing - struggling psychologically

This part is possibly the most interesting seeing that no other sport is as direct as Parkour in the challenge of fear and in the lack of trust. Once outdated the fear a discharge of freedom, solemnity-trust, exists arising like this to solemnity esteems. [clarification needed] An apprentice when getting to cross a challenge (fear of cair,se to hurt), automatically he or she wants to continue for his or her technique to develop. Parkour, without a doubt, helps to win courage and to have notion of the limits of the body. The unconscious practice of Parkour automatically leaves off being considered as Parkour. Parkour should be faced with seriousness and conscience. If it is not, we didn't give limits for which our body can do.

  • Growth in the mobilization of the improper

With the training it is possible to develop an atrevecia vision for obstacles. Which is the easiest road? Which is the most difficult? Is it possible to jump here? The routine takes to the naturalness of movements in new atmospheres.

  • Controlling adrenaline

In scary situations or during falling, the heart beats so fast & adrenaline is felt all throughout the human body. The training of the movements or courses help the routine systemization of finding a point in execution where it is correct. He or she will then think about the movement. What seems difficult today he or she has to be to seem easy tomorrow.

  • Helps in the personal search

All seek new adventures to know the limits. With Parkour it exists philosophy and roads for a better life. [clarification needed] To learn the techniques of alone dislocation back means for the day by day. [clarification needed]

Usefulness

  • Persecution or escape situations.
  • To go to people's location in complex surroundings.
  • Speed in the dislocation and safety during the crossing. [clarification needed]

His work in practice

  • He created the idea of going from point A to point B as efficiently and as quickly as possible. This also works the other way around.
  • He participated in announcements, movies, & television.
  • Founder of the Associação PAWA

David Belle's groups

An apprentice of this modality calls herself (himself) traceuse (traceur). These groups exist to publish the modality. Some seek a commercial road others practice for dedication. The end is the same to practice parkour and to take to the end the technique and ability.
A traceur also pre-founder of the movement and no acquaintance is Don Jean Haberey, and Sébastien Foucan.
