A Virgo and New Orleans born,
I started out and still is a DJ / producer.
I created my own record label Hard Hood Records. My first group was called PMW in which I started and was 1 of 2 members. We created a huge following in the city and the surrounding areas. I was also as DJ RAZOR CUT and after seeing that my group was earning a reputation as one of the most popular groups in New Orleans I eventually took my group to cash money records but business wasn't right after a while so I left and went on my own and continued to produce. My skills for rocking house parties helped me take my talent further. In the early 90s, I left cash money and continued on my own to have a great career independently. I was young and talented and wasnt gonna let anything stand in my wat so I went to Cali, minnesota, texas trying to make it happen until I landed in Atlanta. I landed a deal with Ichiban Records and released my first solo album which was self entitled "FREAK NASTY" it sold close 300,000 units and I didnt see one red cent of that but I made a lot of money performing. I continued to grind and after a couple of years I put out my second cd entitled "CONTROVERSEE" and that was my blessing. Da Dip was on that cd and it sold millions and set me up to for others, I have sold over 5 million units since I left cash money in 92' and I continue to sell cd's. I was nominated for a MTV award and have won numerous awards for my role in this business. I'm probably one of the most well known artist whose never took the spotlight like these other artist. I'm shy but I get the job done. People dont know that I was the first to leave cash money records and I along with my group PMW was one of the main ingredients to the labels success. Everythings all lovely with me these days, I create 4-6 songs a week and grind these streets like a maniac. I have a major distribution deal so I'm able to get my music along with my artist music to all corners of the universe. I'm down to earth and always have been I'm not like theses other fools that get a deal and forget where they came from and when they loose the deal then they wanna come back around and holla, I dont roll like that so if you wanna get down with this camp you gotta be real ya heard me. I'm a producer first and artist second I'm one of the top producers around and one of the few producers that can produces from country, rap, jazz,r&b pretty much anything you can think of I can handle it.
Everything on my label is produced entirely by me, The Mind Of Freak Nasty is as open as the grand canyon so dont be surprised what you hear. I'm from New Orleans so my mind is like a big pot of gumbo that is as spicy as a fresh bottle of cayenne pepper.
Not only do I keep it real with the music, I keep it real when it comes to other things like: Charities and helping others with my charity DA HARD HOOD FOUNDATION, I love working with raw talent so any one out there wants to get down lets get down and leave that attitude at the door ya heard me.
