The Indian Language School or I.L.S was established in Lagos, Nigeria in 1982 for the growing Indian community in the city under the auspices of the Indian High Commission. The principal of the school is Suman Kanwar.

The school was originally setup in a residential neighborhood - Illupeju at 11 Johnson Street. The school began as converted residences yet cramped with three floors, a playground, a basketball court and volleyball court.

The languages taught to the students are English, Hindi, and the choice of the third language is between French and Sanskrit. Only the students of class 6 and above have to learn a third language.The other subjects include Social Studies,Science and Mathematics.
