Hordanes Land was the first official release by Norwegian progressive metal band Enslaved, as a split with Norwegian black metal band Emperor. Notably, the tracks provided by Emperor are early versions of what would appear later on their albums In the Nightside Eclipse and Wrath of the Tyrant ("Cosmic Keys to My Creations & Times", for example, is completely devoid of choir backup in this version).
