UAAP Season 71 is the 20082009 season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

The University of the Philippines (UP) currently hosts this season, which coincides with the centennial anniversary of the University's establishment. It was opened last July 5, 2008 with an elaborate ceremony held at the Araneta Coliseum. [1]

The 2008 Cheerdance Competition was held last September 7, 2008, 2 PM at the Araneta Coliseum, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.

The Cheerdance Competition is not counted on the tabulation of the Overall Championship.

The UP Pep Squad won first place with UST and FEU winning 2nd and 3rd respectively.

This year, the pep squads performed before a record-holding attendance of 23,443 students, alumni and fans.
