Antwain Spann (born February 22, 1983 in Oceanside, California) is an American football cornerback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on January 19, 2006. He attended college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Spann played for coach Herb Myer of El Camino High School in Oceanside, California.

NFL career

On May 17, 2005, Spann was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants. Three months later, the Giants released him from the team. He remained a free agent until January 2006 when he was signed by the New England Patriots. Spann played in eight games with the Patriots in 2006 as a backup defensive back and special teams player and made seven total tackles.

On June 1, 2007, the Patriots re-signed Spann to a contract[1]but he was later released from the team on July 20, 2007.[2] The Patriots later resigned him on September 25, 2007 to the team's practice squad.[3]
