FC Astana are a Kazakhstani football club based at the K.Munaitpasov Stadium in Astana. In 2008 they plan to move to new Astana Stadium. Founding members of the Kazakhstan Super League, and have never relegated to lower level divisions. The club is three time national champions and has already played in qualifying stages of European cups, losing in the second qualifying round of the 2007/8 Champions League to Norway's Rosenborg after overcoming Georgian champions FC Olimpi Rustavi in the first qualifying round 3-0 on aggregate.
