Bombay Bicycle Club are an Indie/Rock band from North London. Their debut EP, The Boy I Used To Be, was released on 12 February, 2007.

History
Bombay Bicycle Club began at an early age of 15, going first under the name of 'the canals' before cycling through various aliases until they picked their current one, and earlier members of the band included Adam Gavshon Brady. The line up changed regularly until summer 2006, when Jamie, Jack and Suren welcomed Ed into the band. They started playing gigs at school and at small London venues such as Lark in the Park and Jacksons Lane. The band then entered, and won, the "Road to V" competition which led to them opening V Festival later that year.[2]
Progression
On 16 august 2006 Bombay Bicycle Club were declared on Channel 4 to be winners of the Channel 4 competition "Road to V" , Over 4000 bands competed for the prestigious prize which saw the band open the main stage of the festival at the Chelmsford site on Saturday and open the main stage of the Staffordshire site on Sunday. Bands were whittled down through a variety of methods with the winners finally being picked following broadcasts of gigs on Channel 4 of the 14 finalists [3] The band have also played the Carling Stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2007.
The band have been described as "Impossibly young and impossibly talented" by The Fly Magazine [4]
The NME ran a piece on the band in the issue dated 16 May 2007 calling Bombay Bicycle Club "the hottest band to come from North London for quite some time. Not only have Bombay Bicycle been together for less than a year, but the band have only just taken their GCSEs. Don't be deceived those, there's a lifetime of experience in these glorius tunes." [5]
Bombay Bicycle Club released their debut EP, "The Boy I Used To Be" on 12 February 2007 on the band's own record label,"Mmm.. Records"[6][7] Their second EP 'How We Are' was released on 22 October 2007 - also through their own record label,"Mmm.. Records"[8][9]. The EP debuted at #2 on the UK Indie Singles Chart 5 November 2007 [10]
The band will be releasing their debut single in July, again through their own record label and are expected to embark on a second UK tour to support the release. The band will also be playing at the 2008 Reading and Leeds Festival, as well as the second Underage Festival.
