Dean Lance Morgan (born 3 October 1983 in Edmonton, England) is a professional football striker, currently playing for Leyton Orient on loan from Luton Town.

Career

Morgan started his career with Colchester United, before making the move to Reading. However, he couldn't command a regular place in the first team, so was released in 2005. Whilst out of contract the young striker had a trial with Tottenham Hotspur, who were managed at the time by caretaker boss David Pleat. Dean Picked up a hamstring injury during the trial which resulted in David Pleat declining to offer the striker a contract. He then signed a contract with Luton Town, where he currently plays on the left wing. Morgan scored a late winner against Southampton F.C. on his first home appearance for the hatters.

Despite interest from other teams,[citation needed] Morgan signed a new deal at Luton on 16 February 2007, keeping him at Luton until the summer of 2009.

On 16 November 2007, Morgan signed on loan for Southend United until 5 January 2008,[1] and on 3 January 2008, Leeds United manager Dennis Wise confirmed that Morgan was one of his transfer targets for the January 2008 transfer window.[2] Wise also showed interest in the 06/07 season but failed to bring in the Luton striker. It was believed that Dean Morgan would sign for Leeds United on Monday 7th January as his loan with Southend had expired. Morgan revealed that he is excited at the prospect of playing a "dream club". However on that date Leeds United revealed that the club and player had failed to agree personal terms and the club was withdrawing its offer. Morgan then signed on loan for the rest of the season at Crewe Alexandra in February 2008.
