Charles Haskins Townsend (1859- ) was an Americanzoölogist, born at Parnassus, Pa. From 1883 to 1902 he was connected with the United States Fish Commission. In 1896 he was an expert before the Russo-American fisheries arbitration at The Hague. In 1912-13 he was president of the American Fisheries Society.
