Uncle Drew is an upcoming sports comedy film directed by Charles Stone III and written by Jay Longino. It is based off of Kyrie Irving's titular character in Pepsi Max's series of advertisements that started in 2012.[1]
Plot
Dax convinces former basketball playground legend Uncle Drew to join a street ball tournament in Harlem. Uncle Drew agreed but as one of the conditions, he will have to form his own team. The two set out on a road trip to pick up Drew's old basketball squad.

Production
On February 16, 2017 PepsiCo confirmed that they are developing a script for a film that will feature Uncle Drew and will partner with Temple Hill Entertainment for the production.[2] On September 5, 2017 ESPN's Sportscenter revealed the cast via their twitter account.[3]
Release
On February 12, 2018, Kyrie Irving announced the release date of June 29, 2018 via his twitter account.[4]
