Tiffany Haddish
Tiffany Sara Cornilia Haddish (born December 3, 1979 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress , comedian , singer , author and occasional model .
Life
youth
Haddish was born in Los Angeles , California. She comes from an Eritrean Jewish family. Her father came to the United States as a refugee from Eritrea . Her mother, Leola, is a native of America. Haddish's father left the family a little later and her mother remarried. Haddish has two half sisters and two half brothers.
In 1988, Haddish's stepfather tampered with the brakes on her mother's car, resulting in an accident in which Haddish's mother suffered severe brain damage. The brain damage caused Schizophrenia in Leola . Haddish, then nine years old and the oldest of the five siblings, became the primary caregiver for her family. At the age of 12, Haddish and her siblings were placed in foster care and temporarily separated from each other. When she was 15 years old, she and her siblings were reunited under the care of their grandmother. Meanwhile, she used comedy to cope with the situation and her new life.
Haddish attended George Ellery Hale Middle School in Woodland Hills and graduated from El Camino Real High School.
Career and breakthrough
Haddish played supporting roles in many films and series. So she played a small supporting role in the film Keanu on the side of Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key . In 2017 she had her breakthrough with the film Girls Trip , in which she played the role of Dina. Haddish has received many awards for her performance, including the Black Reel Award for Best Supporting Actress. That same year, she appeared as host in Saturday Night Live and was honored for her performance with the Emmy Award award. The following year she starred in the film Night School with Kevin Hart .
Since 2018 she has played a leading role in the series The Last OG, created by Jorden Peele . Haddish has also been speaking the character Tuca in the Netflix animation series Tuca & Bertie since 2019 . She also acts as executive producer on the series.
Her German dubbing voice is usually Peggy Sander .
