Charlie Yelverton (born December 5, 1948 in New York, USA) is a former American basketball player. A 1.88 m (6 ft 2) tall combo guard, he was drafted 25th overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 1971 NBA Draft. His NBA career was however short, as in the middle of his first year and having adhered to the Black Power movement he refused to stand for the US anthem prior to a game. His contract was consequently terminated by the Blazers and Yelverton headed to Europe and Ignis Varese. He helped the team to the 1975 Euroleague title and played in two other finals in 1978 and 1979. He also won the 1978 Italian league title while in Varese as well as a Swiss League and Cup crowns with Lugano in 1980.
