Roxanne "Roxy" Mitchell is a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. She is played by Rita Simons.[1]

Roxy arrived in Walford with her sister Ronnie (played by Samantha Janus) on 24 July 2007[2] for their cousin Phil's wedding to Stella Crawford, and will decide to move permanently to Walford from Ibiza where they run a bar together.[3] She will be in her thirties and single,[4] and the younger of the two sisters.[1] She is described as the fire, as opposed to Ronnie's ice.[1]

Both sisters have been described as glamorous, and have been compared to the Kray twins, Ronnie and Reggie. Janus has noted that it is no coincidence that the sisters are named Ronnie and Roxy. She also describes the sisters as "co-dependent and dysfunctional", as well as "chilling, dark and absolutely in touch with what the other is doing".[5]

Arrival in Walford

Roxy arrived in Walford with her sister, Ronnie, in time for Phil and Stella's wedding, although they did turn up late. Roxy instantly caught the eyes of Deano Wicks and Bradley Branning. Ronnie and Roxy entered The Vic, hoping to surprise everyone, however no one really seemed to notice them, or realise who they were. The sisters were unaware of the fact that the punters had just found out about the death of Stella Crawford. Roxy started flirting with Deano and Deano lied about his age saying that he was 25 when actually he was 19. Roxy commented to her sister 'he's pretty, but dumb', obviously asuming that she wasn't really interested. After talking with Deano and Bradley, Deano let slip that Bradley was having women troubles, then, Bradley's fiance Stacey walked in, and Roxy said 'you must be Bradley's girlfriend'. Stacey asked what Bradley had been saying. Roxy then asked what problems they had. Cross, Stacey left the pub. Roxy then quoted 'me and my big mouth'. Both the sisters decided that they liked Walford and that they are in no hurry to leave.

Ronnie and Roxy's aunty, Peggy Mitchell, was furious at what Stella had done to the family and was taking down the party decorations in a fit of rage. Ronnie and Roxy helped take down the decorations. Roxy then bumped into her first cousin once removed , Ben. She said that her and Ronnie would prepare Ben a special meal to make him feel happier.

Peggy decided that herself, Phil and Ben needed to get away, and left Roxy and Ronnie in charge of the Queen Vic. Barmaid, Shirley Carter, was cross that she had not been left in charge, so whilst Roxy and Ronnie spent a night out, Shirley had a party and when the girls hot back in the morning they were left to clear up the mess. Roxy then dumped a bag of rubbish outside the vic and asked Billy Mitchell, to get rid of it. Billy then dumped it outside the house of Ian Beale. Ian new that it was the Mitchells doing. He later went to speak to Ronnie about it, but Ronnie was changing her top as Roxy had spilt drink over it. Ronnie was furious with Ian.

On the 31st July 2007, Roxy saw Jay Brown, graffitiying the vic. She chased after him but stubbed her toe. Jay's father Jase Dyer, sorted out her foot, she was unaware of the fact that he was Jay's father. When she saw Jay and learned the truth about father and son, she warned Jay to stay away.
