Jared Followill (born Michael Jared Followill, 20 November 1986, Memphis, Tennessee) is the bassist for the American rock band, Kings of Leon.

His age was originally questionable because he lied about it when the band started, saying he was sixteen when really he was fifteen.

The band is made up of three brothers and a cousin, Jared is the youngest of the brothers, and the youngest member of the band. He used to play a 1968 Gibson EB-0 or Fender Precision bass guitar but now uses a Gibson Thunderbird with D'Addario strings. His favoured amplifier tends to be an Ampeg 8x10 Cabinet with an Ampeg SVT Classic Head, and uses a Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver DI (along with a Big Muff when playing live).
