Escape from Scorpion Island is a BBC children's adventure TV game, first aired on 3 September 2007 on BBC One, in which 10 contestants compete for three weeks to 'escape from an exotic island'. It is presented by Caroline Flack and Reggie Yates. The first series ended on 21 September 2007, series two premiered on 28 September 2008 on BBC Two at 9am. The series is made by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the BBC.

The second and third series has been hosted by JK and Joel and was filmed in Australia

Series 1

Escape from Scorpion Island 2007 was the first annual competition. The episodes began airing in the United Kingdom on September 3, 2007. Filiming started in July and ended in early August. The series was broadcasted on 3rd September 2007 and finished on the 21st September 2007. It is now being repeated on BBC 2 on Saturdays and on the CBBC Channel on weekdays.

During the first week people were eliminated. It turned out they didn't get elimanated, they were just being chosen to go on a different team. On day one, Barbara was chosen, then Haley, James, Ayesha and finally Kryan. This left Joe,Sam,Oscar,Lianna and Helen as the other team. The two teams were called Team Claw and Team Sting. In the second week both teams tried to win Powerplays for their team, which would give them a time advantage when it came for the final race to escape up Shadow Mountain. In the last week, Team Claw who had 4 powerplays and Team Sting who only had 1, had to take on some extreme challenges to earn that crucal time advantage. On the last day, Team Claw had one a 2 minute time advantage and so they started to climb up Shadow Mountain 2 minutes before Sting did. This paid off for them and Team Claw won the first series of Escape From Scorpion Island.

The Adventurers

Helen, Belfast- Helen is from Belfast and she was a member of Team Sting for the first two weeks and then finally moved to Team Claw for the last week. This was very lucky as Team Claw were the winners and she did play an important part to their success. There was a rivalry between her and James, who was also a member of Team Claw. Kyran repeatedly claimed he was stronger then Helen, but she beat him in every challenge, proving she was not weak at all.

Lianna, Birmingham- Lianna was a member of Team Sting. She on with the girls, especially Haley, and even though she was on the loosing team, she still remained up-beat through the challenges.

Haley, Glasgow- Haley is from Glasgow and she was a member of Team Claw for the first two weeks and then moved to Team Sting for the last week. In the last week Haley got very angry with Team Claw, as they kept using the Powerplays and making them win the challenges when they had tried so hard to win the time advantage. Haley got on with everyone on Scorpion Island and she always kept the team together.

Ayesha, Cardiff - Ayesha was a member of Team Claw. She was really happy to be on the winning team and her best friend was Helen (see above). As seen on the show, she had a big rivalry with Joe and they clashed a lot. Ayesha beat Joe on the island challenge "Canopy Crawl" and rubbed it in Joes face.

Barbara, Sheffield- Barbara was a member of Team Claw. She had a big issue with swimming and that cost her in some of the challenges. However, in the island challenge "Colourfall" she was the first one to the fall, which shows that she improved a lot over the last two weeks.

Oscar, Newcastle- Oscar was a member of Team Sting. Oscar was also a likeable person and got on with everyone.He was not scared of heights, which gave him a crucial advantage over everyone else. He injured his toe on the first challenge, when the adventures moved to the jungle. This put him out for a few challenges and he finally came back in the challenge "Bikelane". Despite the lost, his morale never fell and he was always positive.

Sam, Huddersfield- Sam was a member of Team Sting. In the last week he moved to Team Claw and as a result he was on the winning team. Over the three weeks, Sam was thought of as the strongest candidate and people didn't want to choose him for the challenges as they thought that they might lose. Sam always got on with everyone and he was a kind team member.

James, Bristol- James was a member of Team Claw. He was on the winning team, which he was overjoyed about. James found it hard to get on with his other team member because of his bossiness and sudden mood swings, but after week two when he had no friends, he realised he had to change, and overcame his troubles in "Double Troble" in week 2 when he was put to the test in a gruelling Island Challenge.

Joe, Manchester- Joe was on Team Sting. He was on the losing team, which he was disappointed about. He had a rivaly with Ayesha when he was on the island. Joe was a very competitive person and was always very determined to win.

Kyran, Gloucester- Kryan was a member of Team Claw. In the final week he moved to Team Sting where he then lost on the final push to escape the island. Kryan was thought of as the funny member of the group who always used to cheer up people if they had lost the challenges or if they had an argument.

Series 2

Six children between 11 and 13 are marooned on an exotic island thousands of miles from school, friends and parents. They compete to be the first to conquer the island and learn how to escape from it. The teams arrive already split into two groups and once on the Island they spot a helicopter with a cage dangling beneath it. Inside the cage there are 10 other children; they are being held in limbo and our human prizes at the ened of each utlmte jepordy.

New features

Limbo

This a secret camp where 10 potential new team mates are held prisoner. A crate was lowered by helicopter on to Scorpion Island containnng the Limbo prisoners. They cannot leave Limbo without the Islands say so. Life is tough and harsh in Limbo and it is everyone for themselves. Every day prisoners will get the chance to play survival challenges and be given a chance to perform and potentially be chosen by Sting or Claw.
