Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys (May 1, 1829, Norwich, EnglandJune 25, 1904, London) was a British Pre-Raphaelite painter, illustrator and draughtsman, associated with Victorian art. Sandys' works were focused mainly on mythological subjects and portraits. In 1846 Sandys attended the Norwich School of Design. In the same and next year his talent was recognized by the Society of Arts. In 1899 he became a member of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers. Sandys' sister Emma was also an artist.
