Gironniera, is a genus of deciduous trees, containing six recognized species. It is widespread in tropical countries.

Fossil record

Gironniera carinata fossil seeds of the Chattian stage, Oligocene, are known from the Oberleichtersbach Formation in the Rhön Mountains, central Germany.[1]
