Jari Litmanen

Jari Litmanen (born February 20, 1971 in Lahti) is a Finnish football player. He signed with Malmö FF, playing in the premier Swedish division Allsvenskan. He also plays for, and captains the Finland national football team.

Jari has been part of FC Barcelona, Liverpool and, most notably, Ajax Amsterdam squads, and can play both as a midfielder and as a striker. Litmanen became the first Finnish footballer to gain wide international fame while playing for Ajax in the 1990s. He led the Champions League in goals in 1995. Litmanen is the best goal scorer in Finland's national team scoring 24 goals in 87 games.

Litmanen started his career at Reipas Lahti, HJK Helsinki and MyPa, before moving to Ajax in 1992. He has also played for FC Lahti and Hansa Rostock.
