The Diplomats

The Diplomats are a Harlem, New York-based hip hop group who are more commonly known as Dipset. The group was formed in 2002 by founding members Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freeky Zeeky. All member albums are released under Diplomat Records to which Freeky Zeeky is the President and, Cam'ron and Jim Jones are Co-CEO's. From its roots in Harlem, New York, The Diplomats have expanded to other countries and feature artists from the United Kingdom and Canada.

History

The group were originally signed to Roc-A-Fella Records from 2002 to 2004, but are now signed to their own label, Diplomat Records. Each individual artist, however is signed to different record labels.

Dipset and The Diplomats

Many people sometimes get confused after hearing about The Diplomats and Dipset. It's officially stated that Dipset is the movement that consists of over 80 members (Jay Bezel, Max B, Un Kasa, Purple City, The Senate, S.A.S., Chubbie Baby, A-Mafia, Katt Williams, DukeDaGod and others) and The Diplomats is the group that leads the Dipset movement and consists of 7 members (Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Freekey Zekey, Juelz Santana, J. R. Writer, Hell Rell, and 40 Cal.)

Jha Jha Leaving the Group

On November 9, 2007, Jha Jha announced in an interview that she is leaving the Dipset movement and The Diplomats crew. "In all actuality, I was never signed to Dipset, we thought we could make something work but nothing as far as a legal binding agreement transpired out of it. We had creative differences so I decided the best thing for my career was to part ways." - she stated. Sixshot also asked if the Dipset fans still showed her love and respect to what she answered: "Yes they do, but like I said I'm not apart of Dipset nor the Diplomats anymore". [1]

Diplomatic Immunity 3

On 17th of December, Jim Jones said to Sixshot.com that even though there are controversies between the Dipset members (Jim Jones vs. Cam'ron, Jim Jones vs. Hell Rell & 40 Cal.), they plan to bring back The Diplomats after a year break.
Sixshot stated:
"Jones, who hasn’t been on speaking terms with Dipset honcho Cam’ron, also revealed that people from their camps have had conversations and a third installment of the Diplomatic Immunity series is in the works." The album is expected to be released somewhere in the winter of 2008. [2]
