"Hey Sexy Lady"

"Hey Sexy Lady" is Shaggy's first single from his album Lucky Day. The song features Brian & Tony Gold and the song uses the Sexy Lady Explosion riddim with additional beats.

Versions

Originally, the album has two versions of the song. The Album Version and the "Org. Sting Intl. Mix" version featuring dancehall artist Sean Paul. A collection of song versions is also found together on a separate EP. One can be found on the Yahoo!'s LAUNCHcast with the instrumentals.

  • Original Version (feat. Brian & Tony Gold)
  • Org. Sting Intl Mix (feat. Brian & Tony Gold and Sean Paul)
  • Dancehall Version (feat. Brian & Tony Gold and Sean Paul)
  • Put It On Me Just Blaze Remix (feat. Brian & Tony Gold)
  • Riddim Driven Remix (feat. Brian & Tony Gold, Sean Paul, & Will Smith)
    • This remix can only be found on the Riddim Driven: Sexy Lady Explosion album that includes Will Smith into the song with his own verse. There are two versions of the remix. One with a different verse by Shaggy in the beginning and in the second version, he sings the same verse as the previous songs and a beatbox sound by Will Smith before his verse.

Trivia

The instrumental background of this track is the same one used for the Eastern Motors commercials in the Washington, DC area featuring LaVar Arrington, Clinton Portis, and others. These ads have gained somewhat of a cult following.[1]

This song is used in a scene of She's The Man when Amanda Bynes's character Viola (disguised as Sebastian) gains the admiration of her roommate and his friends by having her pretty friends posing as girls who, despite having been dumped, still desire him (her).
