Clinton Earl Portis (* 1. September 1981 in Laurel , Mississippi ) is a former American American football poker players in the position of running backs . He played for the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins in the National Football League (NFL).

Portis played college football for the University of Miami . He was selected as the 19th player in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos . In his first season, in which he was voted NFL Rookie of the Year , he was able to run 1,508 yards , which he even exceeded in his second season with 1,591 yards. In 2004 he was traded to the Washington Redskins for cornerback champ Bailey and their second-round draft pick.

In the 2008 season, Clinton Portis was able to gain more than 120 yards of space in five consecutive games for the second time in his career, as the second running back ever.

In his career, Portis not only ran 9,923 yards, but also caught 247 balls for 2,018 yards. He also caught five touchdown passes.
