Swiss parliamentary elections

In the 2007 Swiss parliamentary elections, the electoral alliance had the goal of forming its own parliamentary group with five representatives in the National Council . However, this goal was far from being achieved. While three representatives from French-speaking Switzerland were still represented in the 2003-2007 legislative period, two of whom came from the Labor Party and one from Solidarités, there is only one representative in the new period. This is due to several causes. In the canton of Geneva a dispute between the Solidarités and the PdA cost the Solidarités representative, Pierre Vanek , the seat; in the canton of Vaud , the PdA lost its second seat due to a drop in voters; in the canton of Neuchâtel , the PdA with the mayor of Le Locle , Denis de la Reussille , also narrowly missed out on winning a seat and in the canton of Zurich the alternative list was not enough to win a seat. So only Josef Zisyadis remained in the National Council, who succeeded the elected Marianne Huguenin due to the fact that the elected Marianne Huguenin had given up his seat .
