Ákos Elek (born July 21, 1988 in Ózd , Hungary ) is a Hungarian football player .

Club career

Elek started his professional career at Kazincbarcikai SC . He played there for four years and then moved to Videoton FC . With Videoton FC, the midfielder became Hungarian football champion for the first time in his career at the end of the 2010/11 season. In the second half of the 2011/12 Süper Lig season , Elek moved to Eskişehirspor on loan to Turkey .

After the loan, he moved within Hungary from Videoton FC to Diósgyőri VTK. In January 2015 he moved to China in the Chinese Super League to Changchun Yatai. After a year in China, he returned to his old employer Diósgyőri VTK in January 2016. In March 2017, the midfielder was signed by Kairat Almaty .

National team

Elek has been part of the Hungarian national soccer team since 2010 . He made his debut on June 5, 2010 against the Netherlands and scored his first goal for Hungary in the game against Iceland on August 10, 2011.

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Hungarian squad. He made his first appearance in the last group game against Portugal on the starting line-up when several players were spared for the round of 16. In the knockout game against Belgium, he was first back on the bench and came at halftime at 0: 1. The game ended 0: 4 and Hungary were eliminated.
