The Diósgyőri VTK , the Diósgyőr-Vasgyári Testgyakorlók Köre (German "Circle for the Physical Training of the Iron Workers of Diósgyőr") is a football club from the western suburb of Diósgyőr of the northern Hungarian city of Miskolc , which currently plays in the first division .

history

The club, founded in 1910, has been playing in the modernized DVTK stadium that has a capacity of 14,998 since 2018 . The popular club has been playing in the first division again since Balaton FC took over the first division starting license in 2004, where it has spent a total of 42 seasons since 1940.

The club celebrated its greatest successes in 1977 and 1980 when it won the Hungarian Cup twice. In this competition DVTK was also in the finals in 1942, 1965 and 1981. The best league placement so far was 3rd place in 1979.

The legendary coach Márton Bukovi , who is considered the inventor of the 4-2-4 system, looked after the team from 1962 to 1964.
