The Ligakupa , German  "Ligapokal" , full name: Labdarúgó Magyar Ligakupa ( German  Hungarian Football League Cup ) was a cup competition in which the Hungarian first division football team took part. It was newly introduced for the 2007/08 season and this season there were also individual second division clubs at the start (e.g. Vác, Pécs, Ferencváros). In the past there have been occasional competitions under the name League Cup in Hungary.

The 16 first division clubs were divided into four groups of four - according to geographical criteria. After completing the group games, the first and second placed moved into the quarter-finals. In the knockout system, the game continued until the final (which, like all previous games, was played with a return game).

There was a round in autumn, parallel to the first half of the first division, the Nemzeti Bajnokság , and a round in spring parallel to the second half of the league . The season finale for the league cup was contested by the autumn versus the spring winner. If a team won both finals, a gala game against a league selection was played instead of the overall final.

On June 3, 2015, the last final of the League Cup took place.
