Copa de la Liga
The Copa de la Liga (English: League Cup) was a Spanish football competition for club teams that was held between 1983 and 1986. The teams of the Primera División and, from 1984, a total of four qualifiers from the Segunda División , Segunda División B and Tercera División were eligible to participate . The title was played in play-off mode with a return leg. The away goals rule did not apply. The Copa de la Liga winner was given a place in the UEFA Cup .
In 1986 the clubs agreed to abolish the competition due to the tight calendar.
