Álvora is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Arcos de Valdevez . There were 261 residents in the community (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Álvora and Loureda were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Álvora e Loureda . Álvora is the seat of this newly formed municipality.
