Ángel Arocha Guillén (born June 23, 1907 in Granadilla de Abona , Tenerife , † September 2, 1938 in Balaguer ) was a Spanish footballer .

Career

Arocha's playing career began with CD Tenerife in 1924, from there he moved to FC Barcelona in 1926 . With Barcelona he won the Spanish Cup in 1928 and the first Spanish championship held in 1929. He scored four goals in seven games in that first season of 1928/29. Arocha's hit rate in the Spanish league for FC Barcelona is very high at 82%. In the 1930/31 season, Arocha made three three-packs in 15 games (16 goals). Two of them against the rivals from Espanyol , in the 6-2 win in the first leg and in the 4-4 draw in the second leg. Also in the 1932/33 season, Arocha scored more goals than he played in games. He scored 11 times (including four doubles) in 10 games this season.

After that season he left Barcelona and joined Athletic Aviación Club , now Atlético Madrid. There he could not build on the successes at Barcelona and scored five league goals in 20 games in his three years at Athletic.

For the Spanish national team , Arocha made two international matches against Ireland in 1931 , in which he also scored twice.

In 1938, at the age of 31, he died on the Balaguer front during the Spanish Civil War .
