Reformed Church Davos Sertig

The Reformed Church in Sertigtal at Davos is an ecumenically -occupied Evangelical - Reformed church under protection of the canton of Grisons . It is located in Sertig Dörfli and is owned by the valley's etching cooperative. In the summer season from mid-July to mid-September, church services and church celebrations of various denominations take place in the church .

History and equipment

The church was built in 1699, at a time when denominational life in the Landwassertal was consolidating again after the devastation of the Grisons turmoil .

The tower has a tent , the nave a gable roof . In the densely built church interior, a pulpit without a sound cover dominates , which is preceded by a baptismal table on which the Lord's Supper is celebrated according to the Graubünden Reformed custom . The choir is closed on three sides and is separated from the ship by a keel arch .

In the years 1780, 1899, 1920 and 1941 the building was partially renovated, and in 1997 it was restored. With the 1941 renovation, the little church was placed under monument protection under the Nature and Heritage Protection Act with the number 10736.

The two bells date from 1471 and 1780.

Church services are held every Sunday from July to September and two on Christmas Eve . Between May and October, church activities of all Christian denominations can be carried out during the "snow-free time".

Church organization

The Sertig Church is part of the Graubünden Evangelical Reformed Church in the X Davos-Albula Colloquium . Sertig is a fraction of the Davos Altein parish , which emerged in 2016 from the former pastoral community that existed between Frauenkirch and Glaris .
