The Ängesån ( Tornedalfinnish : Vettänen ) is a river in Norrbotten County in Swedish part of Lapland .

The approximately 180 km long Ängesån is the second largest tributary of the Kalixälven . It has its origin in Lake Vettasjärvi . Until the confluence with the Valtiojoki , the river is also called Vettasjoki . The Ängesån flows mainly in a south-easterly direction and flows into the Kalixälven from the north at Överkalix . The most important tributaries of Ängesån are Linaälven and Bönälven . The latter is drained over Tvärån to Ängesån. Ängesån is not yet affected by the expansion of hydropower.
