Åminne is a village ( Tatort ) in the Swedish municipality of Värnamo . The place is about seven kilometers south of Värnamo on the west bank of Lake Vidöstern .

The name Åminne goes back to a farm near Kärda , about six kilometers west of today's location. An ironworks was operated there since 1826. With the completion of the railway from Skane to Småland in 1899, which runs through the current location, the Åminne hut was relocated to its current location in Åminne. Åminne was built around the ironworks and the train station. The production of the company was stopped in 1992. Today the Åminne Hut Museum (Swedish: Åminne Bruksmuseum ) is operated there.

The population of Åminnes fell from 195 people in 2000 to 187 in 2005, but rose again to 222 by 2015.
