The Årmålsryggen ( Norwegian for annual target ridge ) is a mountain range in the Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises up at the western end of the Neumayer steep face .
The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939) under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named the mountain range, mapped it based on surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
