Çağan Irmak

Çağan Irmak (born April 4, 1970 in İzmir ) is a Turkish director , film producer and screenwriter .

He completed his studies at the Ege Üniversitesi (Aegean University) in Izmir in the faculty of communication in the field of radio, TV and cinema.

At the beginning of his career Irmak initially worked as a dramaturge and director at the theater . He made his first experience as a film director in 1998 with the film Bana Old and Wise'i Çal . This was followed by a series of works for Turkish television, both in the form of scripts and directing work, but also other films. The film Mein Vater und mein Sohn ( Babam ve Oğlum , 2005), which he directed based on his own script, was awarded the Audience Award at the International Istanbul Film Festival and also won the audience's choice at the Turkey / Germany Film Festival in Nuremberg .
