Çakıroğlu İsmail Ağa Konağı

The Cakiroglu İsmail Ağa Konağı is a document created by the family Cakiroglu mansion. It is located in the County of Of, Trabzon Province . The exact year of construction is not known. On one of the chimneys there is a year "1235 H" , which indicates the Islamic calendar . Since the calendar of Islam begins with the arrival of Muhammad on September 24, 622 AD , the completion of the six-year construction work is estimated to be in 1805. 40 masters are said to have been involved in the construction.

The structure of the building

The building, which is mostly made of pink sandstone , was built on a hill with a sea view. The house has a square base of 529 m². The house has two floors with small windows on the north side facing the sea . To the south, the building consists of three floors. The second and third floors are decorated with woodwork. The main gates face west and east, on the south side there is a third door in the middle . There is also a gate for the horses on the east side ,

Guests were accommodated in a separate room on the west side. The kitchen and a spacious inner courtyard with two entrances are located on the middle floor. There are further living rooms on the upper floor.

history

During the First World War , the mansion was shelled by Russian warships , but was hardly damaged. The building was registered as a historic work and is currently in need of renovation .
