The Çine Adnan Menderes Dam ( Turkish Çine Adnan Menderes Barajı ) is located in the south of the western Turkish province of Aydın on the Çine Çayı , a left tributary of the Great Meander .
The Çine-Adnan-Menderes dam was named after Adnan Menderes , the Turkish prime minister in the years 1950-1960. The Çine-Adnan-Menderes dam is located 15 km south of the district town of Çine . The dam was built between 1995 and 2010 on behalf of the state water authority DSİ for irrigation , energy generation and flood protection . The barrier structure is a gravity dam made of rolled concrete ( RCC dam ). The dam is 120 m high (above the valley floor) and has a volume of 1.41 million m³. The associated 9.34 km² reservoir extends into the neighboring province of Muğla . The reservoir has a storage volume of 350 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 22,358 hectares. The Çine-Adnan-Menderes dam has two Francis turbines with an output of 19.75 megawatts each . According to other sources, the total installed capacity is 47.2 MW. The standard work capacity is 118 GWh per year.
