Ébrié lagoon

The Ébrié Lagoon is a lagoon on the Atlantic coast in West Africa . It is located on the Ivory Coast in the east of the country of the same name. It has been connected to the Gulf of Guinea by the Vridi Canal since 1950 , which upgraded the port of Abidjan to a deep-sea port . It is fed by the Agnébi , and Comoé rivers.

The cities of the Abidjan agglomeration, which are connected by a railway and two road bridges, are located on both sides of the Ébrié lagoon. The cities of Bingerville , Jacqueville , Tiagba and Grand-Bassam are also located on the lagoon, with the old town in the latter stretching on the strip of land between the lagoon and the sea.
