The Édifice Hydro-Québec is a skyscraper in Montreal . It is located at the intersection of Boulevard René-Lévesque and Rue Saint-Urbain in the arrondissement of Ville-Marie . Since its completion in 1962, it has been the headquarters of the state-owned power company Hydro-Québec .

The building, designed by the architect Gaston Garnier, is 110 meters high, has 27 floors and has a characteristic green curtain wall . The neighboring skyscraper Complexe Desjardins and from there other parts of the Montreal underground city , including the metro stations Place-des-Arts and Place-d'Armes , can be reached via underground access .

A large mural by the artist Jean-Paul Mousseau adorns the entrance hall of the building. The work Lumière et mouvement dans la couleur (light and movement in color) consists of fiberglass and synthetic resin. Fluorescent lamps produce moving colored light reflections. In front of the entrance is a bust of René Lévesque , who, as Minister for Resources, nationalized the electricity industry in the province of Québec .
